Luzhi (given ame Xu) was a well-known female politician in Chinese history. In 202 B. C., Liu Bang procainmed himself emperor and established Luzhi as Queen. Luzhi assisted Liu Bang to kill Han Xin, Peng Yue and other Leuds who were not the same gens in order to destroy the splittist and consolidate the unification of the Empire. After Liu Bang died, Emperor Hui succeeded to the throne. Luzhi was honoured with the title of Empress dowager. Hui was kind and weak in character, the real power in fact was controlled by Empress Luzhi. After Hui died, Liu Gong succeeded to the throne as Emperor Shao. Luzhi's power was even greater and adpoted her own system. Liu Gong complained against Luzhi. Luzhi angered and killed him. Then She raise Liu Yi who was the Leud King of Changshan as emperor. Luzhi attach importance to agriculture when she was in control with the Empire for 16 years. This recovered social economy and improved people's life. Luzhi often resorted to political trickery and was fierce and cruel in means, which was comdemned by historians.
