
Fanji, a born beauty with talent. Reportedly, King Zhuang of Chu intended to select one of his consorts to be queen. He ordered the consorts to present him a gift respectively within three days. The one who presents the gift which he is eager for should be prefereed. And then while all the consorts were vexedly guessing what the King needed and preparing the gifts. Fanji was just remain calm and at ease without preparing anything. Zhuang was surprised and inquired into Fanji's reason. Fanji replied: What your majesty really need is a queen. Why bother about anything else. Feeling well with Fanji's answer, Zhuang raised Fanji as the queen.
After became the Queen, Fanji advised King Zhuang to be aristarchy. She had great contribution to make Chu became one of the five powerful Leud Kingdoms during the Spring & Autumn Period in Chinese history.
Although Fanji was King's favourite, she got no child. Fanji persuaded Zhuang to have more consorts to bear offspring without any jealous. A woman with wise but no jealous like Fanji was rarely seen among imperial consorts in Chinese history.
